Ely, MN is an AMAZING place! The nature, the peace & quiet, the adorable shops in town.. it's one of a kind and every year I leave this spot of the world dreaming of making it our home!
We have been so lucky to be able to spend time with Kevin and Diana Pelto at their rustic cabin in the woods for our (4th annual) "long-weekend away from reality."
This year, I spent my first long stint away from Kyler and, I'm not gonna lie, it was tough. I was so excited to get away from "baby talk," poopy diapers, and all the frustrations that come with having a toddler (not to mention watching two other kids at my house full time). But five nights got to be a little long to be away from the Bubbs.. both Chris and I were yearning for hugs from our little man!
That said, we got to spend some quality time with the Pelto's as well as Grahamm.. relaxing on the pontoon, floating in the water, sweatin in the sauna! Finn's definitely know how to par-tay ;-)
A nice little hike to a waterfall:
Dinner at Burntside Lodge!! a-m-a-z-i-n-g!! And a great sunset for the pontoon ride back
We even got some canoeing and kayaking in!! I could get used to this - only problem is, the leaves were already beginning to change.. boohoo.
Sauna right next to the water. Nothin better for cleaning up in the morning!

And Kyler says, "thank you memas and papas!!" It's such a blessing to have such great caregivers during those rare times we're able to get away - puts your mind at ease. He had a super time snuggling with the grandparents.
